Sometimes There's Nothing You Can Do No Matter How Hard You Try
Posted by Pauline Smith
Hi all,
Maybe I can shed a little light on your problem, as being one of those who over 3 years have, joined many programs trying to earn a living on the internet and failing miserably for all the reasons in SBAV.
There was 1 program I joined I thought was "the one" because in a short space of time, and the first time since I got on the internet I had 14 people under me, yes it was a matrix . I worked hard for my referrals, and for a while they responded, right up to the point where their trial period ended, and it was time to upgrade.
Now 6 months later they still aren't responding, anyway I'm getting away from the point. I just didn't believe or trust anyone on the net right up until, I came to OBC, not OBO I was still skeptical. I know trust is a big problem in our business so how do we get people to trust us.
I know there are honest people on the net, I am one of them and I believe all you people here are as well. I have the same problem with my blog, as you have with your customers It seems every one aiming for success on the net, just wants a quick fix when they first start out, I know I did, others who have been marketing for years without success, either keep trying, and keep repeating what they've been doing and making the same mistakes or, or they give up.
I have almost given up many times, but quitting isn't in my vocabulary, so I keep trying and I will succeed. The hardest thing for me to do was turn off the, (as in Daves words) "the internet file", and turn the "how things work file" back on again.
What I'm trying to say is, until I changed my mindset and decided to shelf, the many programs I was in and started concentrating on one business, I was just running around in circles, and I made that decision just days before I found OBO. I am guilty of being an inactive member myself, and I'm 100% sure the are many more of the old me out there.
I don't think any amount of emails, will change them until they can change themselves. As was said earlier "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink it" The old me's will come around eventually and the quitters will just quit, and the strong minded confident ones will go on succeeding in whatever they strive to do.
I don't think we can get any-one to do anything they're not ready to do,and I'm not sure we should worry too much about it, but move on and try and get productive people into our business, the others will catch up eventually or quit. I heard a saying a while ago, when I was so stressed out I thought I was going to explode. It goes something like this
Fix what you can in your life, but don't spend one minute, trying to fix things you have no control over.
That's not to say stop trying to help or motivate your customers, or team because being there for them is important. I love helpful sponsors and plan to work hard and smart to become one myself.
I hope you get what I mean.
